Reverend Carlendia Madden believes the “Word” works! She was ordained in September 2003 and has been a preacher of the Gospel for 24 years. Rev. Madden is a fierce proponent of believers allowing the Word of God to dwell richly in them, thereby producing a life of victory in Christ!

Rev. Madden is widely known for her practical and dynamic teaching style which has helped FTCC members apply the timeless truths of scripture to their everyday lives. An anointed teacher, wholly submitted to the guiding of the Spirit to reveal the deep truths in God’s word, her weekly “Foundations of Faith” class allowed countless new converts to comprehend the power God has given them to change the world.Today, she continues to teach the Word in Weekly Bible Class. What We Believe As A Community Church

THE FATHER

We believe God is the infinite personal spirit, perfect, holy, and eternal creator of all things, who has revealed Himself as a trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; having the same nature, attributes and perfection, each worthy of the same obedience and worship, yet but one God.

(1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19, 3:16-17; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11)

THE SON

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world. We believe He rose from the dead in the same body he was crucified, ascended into heaven, glorified, our interceding High Priest; and will come again personally, literally and will imminently return.

(Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7; Matthew 1:21; 27:22-66, 28:1-6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6; 1, 10:9-10; Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:16, 20; 3:8, 13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:22-28; Revelation 3:20)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person in the trinity who seals, baptizes, indwells and regenerates all believing sinners.

(Genesis 1:2; Psalms 51:11; 139:7 ff.; Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:28-32; Mark 1:10; Luke 1:35; 4:1; 11:13; 12:12; John 15:26; 16:7-14; Acts 1:5, 8; 2:1-4; 13:2; Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:1-11; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:17)

THE MAN

We believe that man was created in the image of God, fell in sin, became alienated from God, became and is totally depraved, and of himself cannot inherit the Kingdom of God unless he accepts salvation through Jesus Christ.

(Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3; Psalms 8:3-6; 32:1-5; 51:5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 15:19, 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-11)

SALVATION

We believe in salvation by grace, through faith to all who trust in the complete works of Jesus Christ.

(Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7; Matthew 1:21; 27:22-66, 28:1-6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6; 1, 10:9-10; Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:16, 20; 3:8, 13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:22-28; Revelation 3:20)

THE CHURCH

We believe in the church as an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body, each believer living a life in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe the mission of the church to witness concerning its head, Jesus Christ, and to teach and preach the gospel among all nations; to fellowship and conserve the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper and to continue in prayer.

(Matthew 16:18-19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28; 1 Corinthians 7:17; 9:13-14; 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 5:22-32; Colossians 1:18; 3:15; 1 Timothy 4:14; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 21:2-3)

THE BIBLE

We believe in the Holy Scriptures – Old and New Testaments, as the inspired Word of God and as the supreme authority for the direction of faith and life.

(Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalms 119:11, 89, 105; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Romans 15:4, 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16)
